Join RockSpark CEO Robin Rockey at OCPRSA's Introductory APR Study Session Course

Updated: Dec 15, 2021

RockSpark Communications + Marketing CEO Robin Rockey, APR, will serve as an instructor for this year's APR Study Session Course hosted by OCPRSA. This incredible 10-week opportunity is also available to California Association of Public Information Officials members. The course kicks off with an informative Introductory APR Study Session Course on Feb. 8, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.

Rockey will share her insights as a former member of the Universal Accreditation Board, the national board that oversees the APR credential, along with her experience as an APR candidate.

"Earning the APR was an important step in my career, and the skills I learned have served me well both while working in-house for government agencies and as the owner of my Orange County public relations, marketing and advertising agency," Rockey said. "I'm excited to offer guidance to the next group of future APRs!"

The APR process is an essential exercise in success for public relations professionals. The APR Study Session Course provides opportunities for PR pros to gain a clear understanding of their PR skills in the form of valuable personalized information to apply toward advancing your present role and future career.

“As a CEO and trusted counselor to a diverse suite of business, nonprofit, and government leaders, it’s my job to deliver comprehensive communications and marketing strategies to achieve maximum results for my clients every day,” Rockey said. “Earning the APR credential solidified my understanding of how the public relations function integrates with all aspects of running a successful organization, including marketing, advertising and sales.”

This year's course will be conducted via Zoom and will prepare PR and communications pros for each section of the APR process, including the panel presentation and the computer-based exam.

On Feb. 8, Rockey will describe how the course prepared her from A – Z. In addition, Meg Treat, APR, Owner and Principal of Treat Public Relations, will share thoughts on completing the process virtually.
