City of Carlsbad Celebrates New Road with Ribbon-Cutting Event

The City of Carlsbad, California, marked the completion of Poinsettia Lane with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 29, 2021. The celebration marked the city's first in-person event in over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The RockSpark Communications + Marketing team was proud to support the city at this exciting event!

The Carlsbad City Council and staff celebrate the opening of Poinsettia Lane, including two new bridges, at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Carlsbad City Council, city staff and representatives from the construction team were on hand for the celebration. The event attracted news coverage from TV and print news stations, including CBS News 8 San Diego, KUSI and The San Diego Union-Tribune.

RockSpark CEO Robin Rockey, APR, worked alongside the city's Communication & Engagement team to provide communications, event planning and media relations support for the event. The team took special care to ensure that the event complied with all state and local health guidelines.

The completion of Poinsettia Lane connects communities in the east to the 5 and the coast, improving mobility for residents. It also includes pedestrian improvements, such as bike lanes and sidewalks, and features to protect wildlife in the area.
